My mind/Sense of Humor
Loss
Control. Worried about work. Worried about money. It is vain but I don't want to lose my hair or stop having my nails done. I had a great attitude about my mastectomy - very upbeat, alot of jokes, really don't mind losing the breast. Cannot deal with the chemo. The side effects horrify me. I don't know if I should try to work. All I can do is cry. Went for "chemo counseling" today and I wish I didn't. I'd rather I just found out as I went a long.
Many listed but eyes- are the worst.
Side Effects
tear ducts, dry eye, corneas, eyelashes growing inwards
Surgery
Procedure or Surgery
2 eye operations Sept 2013 and Oct. 2014. First one easy peasy. Last one difficult. Tired and eyes stitched, bruised face -feel like a mess
Feel chronically depressed /like crying. Can't deal with ongoing chemo side effects
Oh No
Had bad moments in the past but now everything is actually going well (with cancer issues) and I feel so very down. The chemo side effects just seem never ending. I don't know if I would have agreed to taxotere if I knew all of these things would happen to my eyes. Feel like I have to keep a stiff upper lip- after all I was pretty upbeat during the "bad" parts so now I should be happy! Except...
Side effects from chemo -ongoing with my eyes 2.5 years later
Oh No
Dry eye, blepharitis, lashes growing wrong direction, procedures to force lashes correct was a fail. Stents in tear ducts have closed over
eyes are a mess.
Side Effects
This person has yet to add any details about this experience.
My mind/Sense of Humor
Loss
Freaking out about eye surgery. Another anesthesia event. I hate it! I am pretty sure my eyes will be uncomfortable and unattractive forever. And I will be giving school conferences with black eyes again. Parents are never going to believe I'm not a victim of domestic violence (maybe I have some sense of humor left)
Surgery
Procedure or Surgery
Having surgery on 2/12. New stents in eyes to force open tear ducts. Grafting skin from cheek to eyelid to keep backwards lashes from touching eye. Going to be a long 3 months of block ducts while stents work = tears running down my face like right after chemo. Taxotere I hate what you've done to my eyes.
