The day after Easter 2007 I got the call that I did have breast cancer

I chose to do the chemo first. Twelve weeks of Adrimysen and Cytoxin, once every 3 weeks. Then I had 12 weeks of Taxol and Herceptin (herceptin is for the her2nue+). Then Surgery and Radiation

Surgery went well but, I was very sore. I did have to go in to the surgeon after my drains were removed. The surgical site kept filling up with fluid that he had to drain weekly for about 3 or 4 weeks. This had no pain due to the surgical side being completely numb.

Thank God for surgery leaving the chest wall numb. The object is to burn the skin and so they did, blisters and all. They watch this diligently for infection and do give several options for burn creams. All in all it was barable.

Are you serious! The day after Easter 2012 I began treatment again for mets breast cancer. They found it in late March Mets to my ovary/bladder. Acities was drained from my abdomen and my lung. I did 6 rounds (every 3 weeks) of Taxol, Carboplatin, Herceptin. I am now on Herceptin & Zomeda (for my bones) every 3 weeks until the Herceptin stops working. In June they just released a new drug that can work with the Herceptin. I am hoping they will be able to use "Perjeta" in my treatment.

Chemo was an all day process for me this time. At least 6 to 8 hours. The side effects were minimal but, I did become less active
