Lobectomy
Procedure or Surgery
Trying to get back to a normal life. 5 months since surgery and now I am motorcycle riding with my husband of 44 years. Going to grands' soccer/vollyball/softball. Living life. All thanks to a great surgeon. 1st cat scan was clear. Next one in November.
Diagnosed
Oh No
Lost my sister and best friend 6 years ago to exact same cancer. Diagnosed almost exactly the same way. She died in surgery. Doctor cut artery during surgery. We did not know for several days but - she died on the table. When my surgery was scheduled - it was at the same hospital in Indianapolis. Thought of her the entire time I was there. Wish she could have had the same doctor that I did. I still grieve for her more than my own cancer.

Evening of Promise
Celebration
Beautiful evening in Indianapolis Saturday. Honor two angles who donated 40 million dollars for new cancer center in Indy. Thank you American Lung, dedicated doctors and donors. You are a true blessing
Birthday
Celebration
ct scan yesterday showed no new cancer. Very thankful! Wish I didn't have to sit 41/2 hours past scheduled ct time. My insurance had not approved payment. It was "in review". My daughter spend the ENTIRE day on the phone with them trying to get it approved. Thank you to my oncologist for staying past 5:00 p.m. to see me. CORE Care PLEASE don't do this to people. Not cool. ALSO HAD 62 BIRTHDAY!!
Cancer is back/Recurred
Oh No
Tomorrow I see the surgeon. Last ct showed change and all the docs agreed surgery is best. 2 years I was winning.
Cancer is back/Recurred
Oh No
I made it almost 2 years. Can someone tell me if losing a lung is hard to get used to? I am pretty active with upper right lobectomy and wedge on lower right. Now they are taking the rest of it. I walk everyday (at least 1mile) rotto-til my garden, motorcycle. What can I expect? Thank you in advance

Second recurrence. Now Stage 4. Doc wants to start drug therapy.
Decision Point
I still have issues with the two surgeries and chemotherapy. My vision is shot. Really want to research drug side effects BEFORE agreeing
