Chemotherapy
Drug or Chemo Therapy
Not as bad as I imagined it would be. Maked me tired. I'm not a nap taker, but I found myself dosing off a lot. Chemo treatment #4 seemed to be the hardest to recover from, don't know why. I did have problems with mouth sores, but got relief from Ora Jel Mouth Sore Mouth Wash.
Mouth sores
Side Effects
Of course my hair came out before my second treatment. I had a problem with mouth sores but found a great mouthwash: Orajel Anrtiseptic Mouthwash for mouth sores. It really helped. A nutritionist suggested that the 2 days before a treatment eat high protein and high carbs. My treatment was always Monday, so on Saturday I would have filet mignon and baked potato. I found I had to stay away from fried foods, stomach couldn't deal with it.
Finished treatment
Celebration
Bought myself a Golden South Sea Pearl necklace. My husband surprised me by inviting family and friends to my first Relay for Life walk. Then he took everyone out to dinner. Wonderful surprise.
Found skin cancer
Oh No
Biopsy shows it's basal cell carcinoma. Must have surgery to remove it, then be checked periodically. Surgery is next week and I've opted to stay awake. If I wanted to be asleep, surgery wouldn't take place til october. I just want it over with!
