Did they tell you how many treatments of chemo you have? I have 6 each three weeks apart. then a dbl mastectomy followed by radiation and then more chemo. What a long journey. But hey, I'm definitely up for the fight!

I have 16 weeks of chemo, every two weeks (4½ mos or so), then I get a mastectomy on my right a month after chemo, then a month after surgery I have radiation for 5 weeks. It seems like a very long journey for us but we are strong women and we can do it! : )

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): I had my first day of chemo today (Nov. 1, 2011). It went very well, however, I am sure it's because it was the first day! We shall see how I can hold up these next few days. My inner journey begins!!

yeah i am happy for you because that's when the killing of it begins. it will begin to shrink and that is what we want. Do not be afraid. It is not scary, just a long day and there was no pain. I will look for that book at the local library. You go girl!

I'm reading a great book, "Return to Wholeness" (Embracing body, mind, and spirit in the face of cancer) by Dr. David Simon. It was loaned to me by my amazing aunt who is in remission (8yrs) from breast cancer and multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer) that she had at the same time. She is amazing and so remarkable. I feel more empowered already!

Oh No (I'm stage IIIB): Not too happy to hear that I'm stage IIIB, but I won't let that inhibit me from BELIEVING that I can heal from this! I have a rare type of cancer; Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I'm told it's the most lethal type and least known. But hey, I am strong and I have amazing support, so I believe in ME!

Hey you! Thanks, I'm happy that it is contained, too! And you should definitely ask for a port. I wonder why they didn't suggest one in the first place? Your veins can be damaged over time and all that sticking. Let's save them and ask for a port!!! I love the idea of being breast friends and fighting this together! : ) That made me smile. You are beautiful and strong and you are a FIGHTER!! How long have you been having chemo?

I have had one chemo treatment and that was on Oct 10th. my next one will be on the 31st. since i am iron deficient they also gave me a big bag of iron on the last 2 Fridays The 3rd and 4th day after the chemo was hardest of all. Ive been feeling great all this week tho. My hair started falling out on sat and sun so last night I had my son in law buzz it all off. I like your picture!

Wow, you are brave to buzz off all of your hair, but I love that! I'm considering cutting it now, since I will be starting chemo soon. I hate to lose it but I know it will come back and hey, the reason for the loss outweighs the need for the hair! Thanks about the picture. It's a little old, but I look the same! Let's keep in touch and I'll let you know when my first day of chemo is. HUGS!!!!
