Oh No (Diagnosed): Everything just happened so suddenly. I'm only 35 years old, I have 2 very young kids. I'm afraid.

Hello Aggyshell, I have gallbladder cancer too. It was discovered when my gallbladder was removed. I can understand how you feel, it is scary. I had a second surgery to remove a sample of my liver and all the lymph nodes in the area. I have seen my Oncologist, and may be starting chemo as soon as I get well. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hope we can keep in touch. Nancy

This type of cancer usually does happen suddenly, because it it not easily detectable. Many times there are no symptoms. In my husband's case, he went to the emergency room with a pain in his side, and his was also detected when his gallbladder was removed. He was then supposed to have a liver resection, but the surgeon couldn't do it because he said he probably would kill him if he tried. Instead he did radio frequency ablation, and told me he had not weeks, but months to live. Those were his exact words. That was over 2 years ago. I know for both of you, it is very, very scary, but where there is life, there is hope. My husband is on his third type of chemo regimen in those 2 years, and although there have been many ups and downs, there is always new research and treatments out there. This current chemo is very, very potent, and there are days when he doesn't know if it is worth it, but his tumors have shrunk unbelievably, and his surgeon and oncologist are nothing short of amazed. I know this type of cancer is incurable, but you CAN live with it. So, never give up hope .Attitude and state of mind go a long way. I know it seems hard to believe right now, but I have seen through him that you find strength you never knew you had (for me too as his caregiver - I have my moments but I guess I have also found a strength I never knew I possessed. (Plus a little prayer never hurts.) Good luck to you both, and I am here if you need anything.
