    AngiSarcFightr shared an experience

Oh No (Diagnosed): I began having abdominal pain in Jan 2012 and after about a month of increasingly intense and frequent pain, I finally saw my primary, who thought I had diverticulitis and treated me for same. Referred me to a gastroenterologist who concurred and put me on more antibiotics, ordered a colonoscopy, but decided to do CT just to be sure (thank God). Found a 6x8 cm mass on or near left ovary. Referred to ob/gyn. He referred me to gynecological oncologist at Scott & White in Temple, TX. I was so afraid I had ovarian cancer, but he was confident it would come back malignant since my CA125 and HE4 were within normal limits. Surgery for removal of tumor and total hysterectomy done 5-7-12. Surgical report was malignant tumor. Pathology returned a week later with diagnosis of angiosarcoma. Referred to oncologist in Wichita Falls, TX, who has now referred me to MD Anderson in Houston because he said he has only had 2 sarcoma patients and no angiosarcoma patients in his career. MDA has a large sarcoma center with lots of experience with AS. This is all very new and I feel very overwhelmed, but am taking this one day at a time with lots of prayer.

Know that you have been referred to one of the best sarcoma centers in the US. Write down all your questions for your visit. You will be given lots of information and it will be overwhelming. Take notes and ask questions. Keep faith.
