Procedure or Surgery (Port removed): I was very nervous about this procedure however it turned out to be very simple. I was taken into outpatient surgery. The worst part was the first needle XXX to numb the area. I didn’t feel the any of the others. Once the area was numb the surgeon removed the port and stitched me up. From start to finish it took about 30 minutes. I had absolutely no pain whatsoever when the numbness wore off later or the next day. There was some bruising in the area that lasted for a few weeks but has cleared up and now the area is back to normal. I am left with a small scar.

    Hey Libbykraynick,
I just saw your question about the dry mouth and exhaustion etc...that you asked about a month ago...I am sorry it took so long for a reply...but yes, yes...I am 8 years out and what you are feeling, I hate to tell you this, is unfortunately your new normal. It gets better for some people but for some it never goes away. Hang in there..Have you tried Biotene for the dry mouth?
