Celebration (Remission): After my first heavy hit of 2 types of chemotherapy my bone marrow biopsy has come back clear of cancer. I will now undergo 4 rounds of lower dose chemo treatments over the next few months to hopefully prevent it from coming back.

Clinical Trial (GnRH agnostic treatment (ovarian suppression)): I receive a Lupron shot once a month as well as a shot once a day while receiving chemo. This was the only option for me to possibly preserve my fertility. This is experimental with no guarantee. So far I have had no side effects.

Side Effects (Low white blood cell counts (neutropenia)): Fevers with aches and chills. Mouth sores which made it hard to talk, eat or swallow. I experienced pain digesting as well. Laser light therapy was a huge help for my mouth and throat. Loss of appetite, occasional nausea, and food tasted odd. Hair loss. Multiple rounds platlette and blood transfusions. Mouth bleeding from extremely low platlette counts. Overall fatigue and weakness.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Chemotherapy comes with a list of side effects, but medicine and treatments have come a long way to minimize discomfort. My bone marrow biopsy has come back clear so I am now about to undergo 4 rounds of lower dose chemo treatments over the next few months to hopefully prevent it from coming back.
