I will be starting chemo this coming Wednesday and to prepare for that have been weaning myself off of Estrogen. The side effects of that have started. I've been having horrible panic attacks; I feel like screaming; almost psychotic at times. I know that I can neve return to taking Estrogen and have to deal with this but does anyone have any help as to how. Is there anything that I can take to alleviate some of these sensations?

HI, your getting fired up and prepared for chemo. That's good, a good thing to do,getting mentally prepared.

I noticed you posted this as an update, you will get lots of response on this from the other ladies that have been through this if you will post it as a question. The way this site works is updates are only seen by those who follow you. Go to the top of any page, and click the questions tab, then enter your question there. It will be routed to the people in the network who are most like you in diagnoses, and it will be seen by more people on the questions page.

Give it a try, and good luck on your treatment on wed. Hope is smooth and easy for you!

Procedure or Surgery (Axillary Lymph Node Dissection): On Tuesday, Oct. 16 I had a partial mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection. Recovery is going very well as I have had minimal pain and discomfort. Though I complain about the inconveniences - drain tube, fatigue, interruption to routine - I am doing very well and so far the impact is small. We await the results of pathology and the next step.

Today I have sentinal node mapping and tomorrow morning is the surgery. Thank you to those who have written with encouragement. God is so good! His peace and presence have been overwhelming. May He walk beside each of you in whatever "next step" you are facing.

Celebration (Good test result.): My MRI results came back clear so now I'm just waiting to hear from the surgeon about a date for surgery. I don't know if this means that there won't be radiation and chemo or not as extensive as I was told, or maybe it means nothing at all. But I'm not worried about that, I'm just celebrating the good news and enjoying the moment.
