Celebration: Yesterday I had a first, you would think that at the age of 61 I have all my first's but yesterday the 28th I had a HAIR CUT. the stylist was able to cut 1 inch off the back and top. Now I have a sexy shot cut that I feel great about, This was in celebration of my check up on Friday the 26th. I am going into my 8 month of remission when a year ago I was given about 6 months. My
Dr. said that alot is due to my positive attitude and my outlook during my 6months of rad. and chemo. I am thankfull for everyday I have and for the blessing that the God gave me the chance to see my Greatgrand son born. Also I talked to alot of cancer patients that are either in treatment or in remission. This is so rewarding for me I have always enjoyed helping other. I am sorry that I don't write on here often, but I am very busy. I care for my 86 year old father, and my disabled sister. I also have a elderly son that has diability issue. I am raising a garden this year and have been canning vegatables. and freezing alot of different kinds of berries and apple, Love been able to do this. I thank God for giving me each and everday. It is so wonderfull to have faith. Good Day to everyone and please rely on God to help you thur this difficult time, and Please Please never give up. I am a living example of that. Love and Prays

      Barbeo,
Should you decide that you wish to continue using sunscreen, keep in mind that some of them contain ingredients that are carcinogenic. I am attaching a link so you can check out your brand. Just click on the sun tab, or you can just type your brand into the search box and then click on the picture of your brand. All the ratings will be on the right. Best of luck to you, Carm RN.

I'm at a loss to the definition of "rizzy" so I can't comment on that, but depending on your treatment, you can have various stages of drying. I have been having issues with dry skin since starting chemo last September, I have no hair, ( I shave my head) but I had PCI and even had blisters on my scalp for a period of time. I was given a prescription cream to use which helped. Not it's just the dryness, everywhere. Since you still have hair, I would evaluate my hair care products. Don't use anything with alcohol or sulfur; and this includes shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, hairspray or gel... and try to use a trusted brand such as Neutrogena or Aveeno. Good Luck!

Yay! Hair is coming back. My head felt like a scrub brush or buzz cut when the hair started coming back. I used a good moisturizer on my head when it itched. Seemed to help.

Thanks everyone for the great answers! I will use the tip about products. No flacks or dandruff, the itching is so intense, but as you have said I am alive, shouldn't complain. I am not complaining just wanted to know if there was something i could do. Thank you all again. Prayers are with us all
