You are most welcome. We are all here for the same reason...cancer has affected us, either directly or indirectly. Though I personally have not been diagnosed with cancer, I have many family and friends that have. As well, I have 2 chronic illnesses that could eventually turn into cancer. Having gone through a lot of what I have experienced, I hope that I can help others by sharing my experiences and what I have learned. I sincerely hope that I have been of some help to you and your family. Please know that, though we don't know each other, I am here if you need someone to talk to or vent to. I know I don't have all the answers and I'm not a doctor, but I can draw from my experiences as a caregiver and maybe offer a scrap of hope or inspiration...or clarification. I wish you all the best in your journey.

Have PET scan tomorrow. Feeling so anxious all the time. Trying to cope with my own feelings about this AND trying to help keep my family calm and in check. Despite the fact that the doctor has said the nodule appears to be localized and will be removed surgically I am so afraid.

I wish I could say or do something to make you feel less anxious and afraid. Know that, though it may not feel this way, you are not alone. I know you want to keep your family calm, but right now it needs to be all about you. Sometimes that can be hard to do. You need to let them know what you need from them...support, a hug, a shoulder to cry on, someone to scream at...whatever it is, it needs to be about you. This is YOUR fight and, as much as they may want to, they can not fight this battle for you. They can be there to do whatever you need, whenever you need it. I know, being on the outside looking in is XXX for family members...it was, and still is, for me. The thing is, you need to worry about you and take care of you right now and everyone around you needs to understand that. Sending you warm hugs and all the positive energy I can. You WILL get through this. <3

Oh No (Diagnosed): Recently hospitalized and diagnosed with lung cancer and COPD. 1.5 cm nodule on left lung confirmed by biopsy. Dr. optimistic it can be surgically removed and all will be well. Will have PET scan on Wednesday to see what stage and then surgery providing it is not anywhere else or has spread to parts unknown. Quite a shock. Quite a trip.
