A clarification: wild yams are a source of phyto-progesterone. And do not take black cohosh, cat's claw or evening primrose, because they contain a type of phytoestrogen that does feed ER+ tumor cells.

Thanks for all the input, friends. I've kinda decided one can really start to over think all this. I will try to eliminate some of the worst offenders but continue to stick to a well balanced "healthy" diet with much variety; friuts, vegetables, dairy, etc..... There are so many different lists, all telling us something different, but I think common sense trumps them all. But I will bring this up with my oncologist at my next follow-up.

Nuts are perfectly OK--and a great source of healthy fats.

I hoped my symptoms would miraculously disappear overnight. They did not. In fact at about 2:00 AM I realized I was itching like crazy everywhere. No hives, just intense itch. A call to Cardiology this morning was pretty useless. The nurse I spoke with acted as if she had never heard of such a thing and tried to tell me it couldn't be happening. I was, like, fine, then how do you explain all the symptoms? She suggested I call my Primary, I did, she was out of the office so I spoke with another nurse. She suggested Benadryl, lots of water and if it didn't clear up to to Urgent Care. I do feel better this morning but it hasn't gone away yet. Sad to say, I got better information off the internet than I got from either of these phone calls. I found a website that listed a long list of possible side effects and allergic reactions to Definity contrast dye. Only thing I couldn't find was what to do about it. This is the second d reaction I've had to a pharmaceutical substance in two weeks. Like I said, I think my body is just saying "enough already!"

Oral OTC Benadryl? You should have been admitted to either an ER or Urgent Care and given a Benadryl injection (or, as in my case, an I.V. Benadryl drip and 3-hr observation).

I took children's Benadryl. I can't take full strength or I have an adverse reaction to that! I still feel a little itchy tonight and the gastric pain and mouth tingles haven't completely abated but I do feel much better tonight. I was amazed that the people in Cardiology seemed totally blindsided by this. It was like they never heard of anyone having a reaction to contrast dye. Makes one wonder.
