Can you work during radiation treatment?

If you mean during the actual treatment, no. It isn't like chemo treatments where you can work while the infusions are being administered. With radiation treatments you have to lie still. If you mean can you continue to work over the duration of your radiation treatments, yes.

I sure did! It was a 10 minute drive to the oncology center, and my appointments were at 1PM. I'd leave work around 12:30 and be back around 1:30, having been radiated and had lunch! I didn't experience fatigue. I agree with Dulcinea that keeping up normal activities as much as possible was a good thing for me.

I also worked through my radiation treatments. My appointment was at 8:15 in the morning so I would go to radiation (It took 15 total for the treatment and most of it was just getting lined up. The actual radiation lasted 66 seconds). I did start to experience fatigue and side effects towards the end of my treatments but nothing to skip work for.

I really think there is something about having to get up, get dressed and get out the door every morning. Granted, there were days when I did nap as soon as I got home from work but I have learned to love the nap!
