Oh No (Cancer is back/Recurred ): Four and a half years with no sign of cancer. Now it is back and aggressive. I have lumps under my left pectoral muscles and had 2 supraclavicular that were removed for biopsy. I should be getting a port put in this week and start chemotherapy next week.

Do you have a start date for chemo? Good luck and God bless.

No start date yet. My oncologist wants me to start Monday or Tuesday but I am waiting for the insurance authorization. They authorized the port placement. The first available date to have it inserted is August 1st so I will probably begin chemo with a regular IV. I want to get it started however, I am dreading the treatments. Thank you for the hugs, thoughts and prayers.

Of course you want to get started! The sooner you begin, the sooner it is over...I find all the waiting that is involved with this diagnosis is one of the hardest things about it...I am not a patient person, by nature...but I have learned to be a bit more patient out of necessity. Try to keep your mind occupied with other things, things you enjoy or make you laugh. Before my diagnosis I never watched Seinfeld...after, I had to have my daily "fix" of that zany crew! Do you like to read? Maybe transport yourself to a far off land for an adventure...I have also taken up coloring (thanks to ejourneys on this site) and find it immensely soothing. Whatever and however you fill the time until chemo starts, I wish you peace and an easy time.

Oh No (Diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy): I have had problems with neuropathy since chemotherapy. It started in my hands and feet and then progressed to my arms and legs. I now have trouble walking, my balance is way off and there is constant pain. Neurologist has prescribed Gabapentin and Cymbalta.
