I've never heard of "Clarks" level 1V..... I was diagnosed with Stage IV (the letters IV) = Stage 4. Ovarian Cancer. Almost 7 years ago. I was told I had approximatly 6 months... The doctor then did surgery... He removed all the cancer, a 39 lb right ovary and a normal left one. Then he sectioned and sliced cancer from the outside of my intestine, and euretha... I received two years (approximately) of chemo, which has left me with numb fingers and feet. My hair is too thin to wear, but Paulayoung.com makes a fabulous selection of wigs at great prices. And the best thing.... I have remained cancer free!!!! Please ask God to take your hand, let him know you're scared...tell Him you'll follow if he'll lead. My fear left immediately and he is still holding my hand tightly. God bless you. p.s. Hope you weren't badly affected by Sandy.

No, it is not the same. I was Clark Level 4 also! I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma just two months ago or so now. My stage ended up being stage 3B, and I just finished my second surgery. The clark stage is used to determine how deep the tumor is, I know I was just as confused when they told me. I wasn't given a stage number either when I was diagnosed, only a clark level number. Did they tell you how deep your tumor was? Mine was 4.5 mm, that's a key number for your pathology and treatment plan. Praying for you!

Oh No: I just received the call from from primary Dr. I have basal maliganment melanoma. Shesaid it was a level 1V on the Clarks Scale. Does this mean Stage 4 cancer? This is very frightening. I am terrified!!!!
