Thank you! I’m never without a book! It has been so helpful to learn what other people experience- a hiccup is great way to look at it! For all that has changed- it is still helpful to hear what others have experienced- a good friends mom came over and gave me her story for a lumpectomy from 20 years ago and had such valuable advice and encouragement- so keep sharing!

Hi Bookinhand.
When I signed on it asked my name so I gave it. It never dawned on my that I should come up with a name like my password.
I love yours. I use to be an avid reader. Now, I'm lucky to read the AARP magazine. I would love to donate my Reader's Digest Condensed books, but no one wants them.
Yes, each person has so many different experiences with their radiation or chemo. I called each one a hiccup. I worked through them. I had a lumpectomy in 2006; so many things have changed since then. Good luck on your journey.1 Comment -

Hi Carool! Thank you for the welcome and support- finding others who know what your going through has been so encouraging- just the other day the woman who was fixing something with my insurance asked how I was doing and said she’s a 10 year survivor- and that little connection was so nice- she told me a little of her story and just that commonality connected us-

Thank you, Bookinhand (I like your screen name, btw). Yes, I too feel a connection with other breast cancer survivors. There are so many of us, and it’s great that these days, unlike decades ago, we can be open about it and can meet and support each other and share information.

Procedure or Surgery (Mastectomy): Recovery wasn’t horrible- but I wish someone had told me your nerves wake up about two weeks later and that hurts!
