it could also be the meds and their side effects you can check them out online, praying for you buttercup,my faith keeps me going, tomorrow will be a better day for you! And because he said 6mths are you really gonna take that? I remember the doc that diagnosed me with only stage 2 BC, said after a lumpectomy i would only have 10yrs,, what a joke! I said no, I'm gonna beat this and grow old, you'll see! had a mastectomy instead and feel better than before internally! I'll take a challenge anytime! changed all my eating habits and activity levels, people say i look younger than my true age (late 40's) that i'm glowing too! :) So we all here to help and pick one another up don;t forget that.

      Hi Buttercup,
I have had a head ache in the back of my head & neck, and a tingling (funny bone) feeling that goes down my shoulders & arms and down to the wrist to my thumbs. I had scans and nerve conduction tests to see if it was cancer in my bones or something else. The neurologist thinks it is pinched nerves in my neck and carpel tunnel in my wrists. I am taking Neurontin for the nerve pain and it does help some. I also use wrist supports at night. Since I have met. lung cancer in my neck (C3) my oncologist does not want to do any surgery there. If the pain is too severe in my spine, then I would get radiation to help with the pain. Hope this is helpful to you. Best wishes to you.

Buttercup you don't have that name for no reason. You are a wonderful individual put on this earth to help others. You will never know how you may effect someones life for their future by the things you say & do. You are a beautiful person that cancer wants to take down, but can never take your soul from you. My friend at age 48 had unknown cancer with triplets ages 9, was given 3 mo. to live 2 years ago, she is still here. Nobody can give you that check out time. Live your life to the fullest!! Even if its hard make the best of it, we get one chance. Absorb everyday wonders around you. The vast blue sky, the air we breath, the songs of the birds in the morning as the earth wakes. The book the Secret helped me. My the strength be with my FRIEND !! :))

So sorry you are having so much trouble. I don't understand why some people "breeze" thru lung cancer surgery(me), and others have such a hard time. I've been reading your journey and my heart aches for you. You will be in my prayers.

I am now on Hospice. They come twice a week for now and I don't need a tech yet. The Oncologist said maybe 6 months but I don't think I will make it that long. I am losing interest in eating or drinking. I don't want to be around people much and have no energy to go out anywhere. All I do is fall asleep and I am sleeping about 14 hours every night. Does anyone know if an autopsy is done after death or is it just considered to be from the cancer?

Buttercup, I can promise you there is no pain at the end. I lost both Mom and Dad to cancer, we took care of them both in hospice care with the help of hospice nurses. They manage the pain very well. You tell them anytime you have any pain and they will see to it that it goes away. You might ask Carm on this site any questions you have about this, she is an end of life nurse and has a lot of experience with it. I wish you the best.

Research it. Find out as much as you can, talk to your drs and make an informed decision. Just because they said 6 months doesn't necessarily mean they are right. It ain't over till the fat boy sings.

      Hi Buttercup,
I am with the majority...at this point how can it hurt? I did a little research myself because I have never heard of this type of treatment. The mistletoe grown in Europe and Asia are the one that is used for cancer, unlike the North American type. One claim by doctors in Germany goes as far as stating when regular treatments of chemotherapy, and radiation are used in conjunction with mistletoe there is a 40% chance of success. Don't go into your decision blind...check in with nurse carm for her opinion, and also do some research on the internet. How can any of this hurt you any further than what the doctors have already told you...6 months!!!
