Cj I hope all is going well for you, I think my positive attitude helped me get through to this point. I was prescribed a anxiety med at one point to help as well. My time alone was spent figuring out how many weeks were left for treatment so as to put aside the fear of all the unknowns. I know from all the folks being treated with me that each case is different. Laughter and humor are all I to give to my co-patients but it makes me feel better seeing them laugh. I've completed my treatments and the good news is the cancer hasn't gotten any worse. So I start all over this week. I'll go in next week to find out what the next course of action will be, yes I'm concerned but so looking forward to finding new patients to share in my humor. God Bless

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): I went on into the cancer center to have the bone morrow taken and that wasn't so pleasant but I got through it and was able to start chemo. The first day was overwhelming with information and I don't really know if I could remember much more than being there all day. So many medication for so many things. Several cycles later and the side affect really kick me around. Sick simply wouldn't cover it, than the hair loss, but that just the way it goes. The abdominal pain was minor but the legs and joint pain just got worse. I lost 44 pounds which put me at 150, so I imagine I looked like XXX. But I didn't care I just wanted it all to over with. Two months into the treatment and once again I have pneumonia and hospitalized.

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): Eight days pass and I went home and schedule a pic line to be put in a few days later. That was a pretty simple procedure with little or no pain. However I ended up with pneumonia shortly there after and possibly a staff infection. Another week of hospitalization to fix that and than a port was put in for the coming chemo. A few days later I once again had severe abdominal pain. Cat scan and ultra sound revealed a gallbladder problem and off to surgery to remove that. By this time I'm on a first name basis with the entire 3rd floor nurse staff. They were a pleasant bunch and greatly appreciated.

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): I went into the hospital with severe abdominal pain. An hour later I was in the operating room to find the cause of my pain. My appendics was removed and at that point it was discovered that my colon had ruptured. So I was opened up to do a colon resection. The next morning I woke up to be told I had NH lymphoma and that a pet scan was needed to determine the extent. Lyphm nodes were affected from my neck to my grion area. The fear set in almost imediately.
