Decision Point: OK well I completed the second round of Chemo today. All is well. Third round Feb 2nd. Then will have second surgery/Total Hysterectomy/Debulking March 7th.

Here is my question has anyone had this done using the robot? My oncol initially prepared me for open Hyst. Now today mentioned doing this with robot assistance. Is that a good thing? We will discuss things in Detail in Feb but I am trying to gather my info.

    Thanks

      Hi Carson,

Congrats on completing your second chemo round. Making progress. I noticed that you asked a question here, but wanted to suggest that you ask it in the Questions section. You have a better chance at getting more feedback that way.

You can do this by clicking on the "Ask Network" link on your logged in home page or the "Questions" link at the top of this page. When you post needs/questions using our question feature, we route your question to everyone in the network who might be able to help. Also, know you can use the "Update" feature on the site to keep anyone who might be following you on WhatNext up to date.

I look forward to seeing how you progress.

Hey Carson. Just wanted to wish you good luck with your decision. The doctor performed a total hysterectomy on me when they removed the tumors. But my tumors were fairly large. I lost 18 pounds from the procedure. I would be interested in learning more about the robot assistance too. Sounds interesting. I hope whatever choice you make that your recovery is pain free. How is the chemo going?

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): first round of Chemo with taxotere and carboplatin( Now 12 days out) tolerated well, although I have a new appreciation of fatigue. Had metallic taste in mouth for 1-2 weeks but now doing better. Nausea not as bad as I had expected after the first 3 days. Generally feeling good. Next Chemo set for Jan 12th.

Oh No (Diagnosed): Had emergency surgery on Dec 1 2011 for what I thought was appendix, and surgeon thought was ruptured ulcer. Makes since, I am a Emergency room nurse. Well found 17cm ruptured cyst on left ovary. removed ovary and tube but unable to do anything else. What in the world just happened? To Oncologist in Mobile Alabama, Mitchell Cancer institute the next week. Is this really happening... Well I have always been a fighter and guess now we will fight again.

Sweetcfo, I too am 47 recently diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. Found during emergency surgery on Dec 1. What I thought was ruptured appendix(I am a Emergency Room Nurse) Guess I was wrong. I have had the first round on chemo with Taxotere and carboplatin. Tolerating well so far just a few bouts of fatigue. Will have 2 more rounds 3 weeks apart, then debulking surgery and staging. They were unable to do it the first time as my abdomen was to angry. Just wondering if the next 2 rounds will be similar to this one? So far not to bad. Not looking forward to surgery in March but really want to know if there is anything else there. Stay strong.
