    CCQDesigns shared an experience

Celebration (Finished treatment): I am so glad, I have finished treatment, had my follow up mammograms and am cancer free. What a relief and from this end of the journey, it was so much less difficult that my imagination feared. Life is so wonderful as a survivor. Love and hope to all survivors and all going through the journey.

Just wanted to check on how you were doing. I am in the midst of radiation and so far so good. Hope you have a great day today.

Loss (My mind/Sense of Humor): Just kind of hitting me today that I am now and forever a cancer patient. Even if I am cured, there will always be that lurking what if. And I will see an oncologist forever more. Added to my constant Rheumatoid doc, when will I have time to go to work? I am just so tired today.......

This is our new normal....I too am learning to embrace it! I have decided to not walk in fear but in faith. We can get the best treatment and fight this with all we have....fight fight then help others and keep moving forward!

Happy for you. I know the feeling. We seem to be going at the same pace with treatment. I think it was hard going home last night and then having to look at all the markings all over my chest. I think that really kind of brought it home to me. But like you - I am going to be positive and grateful that it was caught when it was.

Hi Beannie, I am Rebecca. I was diagnosed a week ago and am headed to the radiation oncologist this afternoon. I was wondering if you could share your experience with radiation. I have stage 1 breast cancer.

Hey Rebecca - I was just diagnosed on Nov 21st. Invasive Ductal, Stage 1. I have met with the radiation oncologist to discuss my treatment and to go over my options. I actually had my first visit today to get the initial markings and scans to set up the radiation points. If all goes well with my next mammogram and I don't have to have any more excisions, then Monday of next week I will have my trial run with radiation and actually start treatment on Tuesday. So far everyone at the Cancer Center has been very supportive. Today was okay despite nerves. They molded the cradle and I have X's and lines marked all over my chest but it went well. I am very nervous about actually starting the radiation treatments but I know it won't last forever. Hope your appt goes well.
