    cdouglas1999 shared an experience

Drug Therapy or Medication (Zometa): I've been very fortunate to not to have experienced any jaw and/teeth issues associated with the use of Zometa. I started Zometa 20 months ago, February of 2013 because my spine was collapsing at an alarming rate. Then my doctor began a Chemo regiment (Revilmid-Dexamethasone) November 2013 through April 2014. The side effect that was most bothersome was agitation in the form of tremors. This was corrected by the use of Ativan / Lorazepam

My collapsing spine happened before I was diagnosed. Took 8 months to find out why my back hurt so much. Drs had me on pain meds and muscle relaxers and physical therapy for muscle issues. Asked to see the spine dr who knew something was really wrong and after X-rays and MRI sent to oncologist and started chemo within a week. I started on velcade and they added revlimid when I reached a plateau. I have been getting zometa once a month for two years and now will be getting it every 3rd month. Have never had any issues with it at all. Sort of worried now only getting it 4 times a year and hope no more bone issues. I had 5 compression fractures in my spine and did have balloon kyphoplasty on two but then got shingles and the window of opportunity passed to do the others. Never have had any issues with revlimid and after my stem cell transplant am back on revlimid for maintenance.

My protocol was the same too:) my side effects from Revlimid was neuropathy but we found right med/dosage and I don't notice much:) don't forget your aspirin w Revlimid or blood clot very possible. When they put me on maintenance several months after SCT, I had forgotten about the aspirin and they forgot to remind me:( I had a clot in my right hand!! Omg it tripled in size and the pain was like nothing I had felt before:(( the zometa has given me absolutely no issues that I'm aware of:)) I had to have my teeth pulled before SCT maybe that's one reason I'm good... Not sure.

No, but my rotary cup on each shoulder has been damaged so bad I get shots every three or so months. Right now I'm behind on getting my shots and I literally have to lift my right arm at night w my left hand ... Sometimes it feels like deadweight hanging off me lol. As I'm typing it's noticeably ( to me) sore n painful but I'm learning to adjust to it. I know it's not the same as yours but still shoulder related MM damage.
