My husband heard me sware when I was reading this. I explained what I'd read. He came over and kissed my bald head and said. "Tell him Good Riddance". He said a real man will be there. I pray that you can move on, take our strength, come to us for laughs and hugs and keep your eyes on the prize. To hear the words "cancer free" hear them in your brain and know you'll hear them... Then we'll talk of how I married the wrong man, and finally got the courage to leave him. How the right one found me. and how happy we've been for the last 30 years. He's out there for you too. Mr... I really do love you!

Hi Kokopelli. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical cancer this past month. If you want to chat I"m here for you. It's scary, but sometimes it's nice to talk to someone who is going through the same things. :) Stay strong!

Radiation (External radiation ): Hmm... what to share about my radiation experience... What do you say about laying on a table for 10 minutes as a machine rolls around you? Oh! While your pants are around your knees causing you to flash anyone who comes into the room. I swear I have flashed everyone who works in that hospital minus the Ladies at the front desk... but give it time. I'm sure I'll get them too.
It's kinda like a really lame ride out front of the grocery stores from back in the day.

LOL I remember those rides. :) They didn't give you a sheet to cover up with? I don't know how I would have handled that.

hmm, when I had my radiation I went into a room where the table was, climbed up, dropped my pants, laid down, they covered up my butt with a towel and did the radiation, no wheelin me anywhere and they covered up what they didn't need Although through this whole process I have become far less modest, How many people have examined us and witnessed procedures? More than we know (or want to know), or could count! LOL

Oh No (Health insurance issue): Due to a hickup in my insurance they had to delay my treatment until COBRA was approved. Why did this suck so bad? I was let go from my job the day after finding out I had Stage 3 Cancer. I was then informed I had medical coverage for up to 60 days... that was bull. My insurance was cancelled on the 16th. XXX. Ran through some hoops, had documents emailed to me, overnighted forms, was told said forms were not received though I had the confirmation slip... ugh... It's all fixed now. THough I have to say... the fact that someone without insurance who has cancer will die due to refusal of treatment is FUBAR'd. Just sayin.

Man! I feel ya! Having to jump through hoops and deal with insurance and coverage issues is stressful. I'm glad to hear everything worked out.

Procedure or Surgery (Surgery): On October 12th I had the 2nd tumor removed from my vaginal wall. The surgery went really well. I fell asleep in one room and woke up in another. I went under that morning and by lunch I was home playing Skyrim.
