I tried to reply to your reply to me, but couldn't figure out how to do it!! lol Thanx for your well wishes!
I am well on my way to recovery. Today is 1 week and 1 day since surgery and I am doing quite well. Just wish I could get these XXX drains out...they suck!! I am sooooo close (drainage wise) so I'm hoping my PS will take them out when I see him Thurs.
    Fingers crossed!!
Hope all is well with you :)

Hi Mominmi...so sorry you had to join this community. I'm here for support and will keep in touch with you on your journey. My diagnosis is similar to yours...I had inv. ductal carcinoma in my left breast, and also had inv. lobular in my right. I am currently recovering from bilateral mastectomy with expanders and sentinel node biopsy. My surgery was 8/6.
I won't sugarcoat anything...my surgery was horrible and the pain was bad. But you may only need a single mastectomy, or even lumpectomy...so there's a little good news already.
I know you must be going through so many emotions right now. I remember the shock, depression, fear, and impatience at waiting on all the test results. Patience is definitely not a virtue for me, and I didn't think I was going to make it through all the waiting. But I did! My surgery was a little less then 3 months from my initial diagnosis.
Stay strong and come here often. Use the web to your advantage...don't overdo it, but it is awesome for getting answers to your questions, and there are many support sites out there.

Hi MovingForward...We have a similar diagnosis so I'm here to say...I'll support you if you support me!! :) I have the Infil. ductal cancer on the left, and infil. lobular on the right.
My original diagnosis (left) was on May 16th, so it's been a whirlwind three months! I am having a bilateral mastectomy on Monday. They will also be doing the sentinel node biopsy, and I'm having expanders put in too. I am the most anxious about the lymph node outcome...once I know that, I will know more about my long term prognosis and my plan of attack.
Stay in touch with what's going on with you and I'll update you on surgery as soon as I'm able.
    STAY STRONG!!

Hi Lynn...I was diagnosed 3 months ago with breast cancer in both breasts. Infil. ductal in the left, infil. lobular in the right. I am scheduled for bilateral mastectomy with expanders on Monday.
They will also be checking my lymph nodes at the same time, so then I will know more about future treatment.
I am not really nervous or scared about the surgery itself, but am about the lymph nodes. Fear of the unknown.
I'm new to this site, and your the first I've written to. Hopefully we can help each other on this journey. Take care!
