I agree Chris, I have had it 3 times, lost both mom and dad to cancer within 10 months of each other, and countless friends are diagnosed. We all have to stick together. I do what I can volunteering and speaking for the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life events, strides are being made, it just seems sloooooowwww.

Loss (Lost loved one): We spent most of the summer in various hospitals in Charlotte, NC. At Duke in Durham NC and finally the VA in Pittsburgh. With each and every step we constantly held out hope that something would break in our favor. We saw others around us getting better, but Paw just got sicker and sicker. Finally the family just had to decide to let him go, my wife, SIL, MIL and the kids are all having a hard time adjusting.
The youngest often asks where's papa? when she walks into the parents house and sees his empty chair And we tell her he's in heaven with Jesus.

Lost my Father in law to cancer, Sept 2012 after an extended illness. We've also fought and won a fight with Colorectal cancer in my mother in law. We were fighting bladder cancer in my wife's grandfather when he died from ALS and lost a very dear friend to a re-occurrence of cancer a few years ago. Cancer is taking away everyone I love and it has to be stopped.
