Brother in law got a stem cell transplant for multiple myeloma. At around day 100, his liver went kaput and then his kidneys. Died very soon after. Very sad.

How long were you in treatment for before you were considered cancer free?

They told me that after 5 years of clean scans I would be considered 'cured'. Or as close to it as you can get. I am now just two scans away from that mark, and I am counting down the days! I have had more than three years of clean scans and have no reason to believe I will have anything else for the remainder of the time. But I know that doctors are different and some want different things. Check with your doctor to see what they have in store for you.
