Hi Mindy, I had just turned 40 when I was diagnosed and also have no family history. I understand exactly how you feel-one day you think you are normal like all the other people around you and then all of a sudden you are trying to emotionally recover from a mastectomy and start chemo. It is all very scary and disorienting. That was 5 years ago for me and it was hard but I got through it and you will as well. Let me know if I can answer any questions you have and take care.

I am happy with my docs-they have always helped me make informed choices. I will probably have my ob/gyn do blood levels when I see him for my annual visit in February. I see my oncologist next month and will bring it up with him as well. During the year I had chemo I wore pretty and fun scarves (I wasn't coordinated enough to wear a wig and when the hot flashes started there was just no way) What a wonderful way to turn something so difficult into something that has surely brought smiles to many, many hurting women. Good for you!

Hi justbreathe-I am also on tamoxifen and wanted to wish you the best on the 28th. Sounds like you have been through alot already so you know you can handle whatever comes your way. Can I ask what led you to having this biopsy? The tamoxifen has been very frustrating for me because the chemo stopped my periods and I have only had them sporadically over the last few years. Both my oncologist and gynecologist tell me not to worry but it is hard to know if something isn't right when I am already not right due to the tamoxifen :) Love the scarf in your picture, too!
