My 16 y/o son and I went to Berkeley (6-23-13) to shop and then we headed to San Francisco afterwards. My son took this photo of me at People's Park in Berkeley.

Good shot, is the People's Park a tourist destination? I'm not familiar with that side of the US.

Hi Greg. (That's my son's name as well, only with two "g's" at the end.) I wouldn't say that People's Park is a tourist destination. It's at the end of a long street where a lot of shops and restaurants are located, as well as sidewalk vendors (mostly old time hippies). People's Park is a place where the homeless can live, but there are also other events that take place there such as concerts and vendors selling their wares. Where do you live?

I am in West TN. Between Nashville and Memphis, out in the sticks.

    Cindy729 shared an experience

Radiation (Radiation and chemotherapy together): I went through 6 weeks of radiation. The chemo was attached to me from a pouch that I had strapped to me which went in via a port in my chest. I had the chemo during the first week of radiation and during the second to the last week of radiation. My doctors were shocked by how well I handled the treatment. Apparently, I am the only patient at this particular hospital that went through the type of treatment that I did with the type of cancer that I have who did not need any anti-nausea drugs, lost no hair on my head, did not have any eating or bowel problems, and did not experience the pain that others have gone through with the exception of extreme pain of urinating during my 5th and last week of treatment. From the beginning of my treatment my hematologist and radiologist repeatedly warned me that I would end up on opiates due to the extreme pain of the pelvic region from all the radiation, but I had none. I was extremely red and experienced itchiness, but had very little peeling and experienced no pain. When chemo began I gained 20 pounds instead of losing weight. During the middle of my treatment I felt a surge of energy - so much so that I began exercising on a daily basis: beginning with walking a mile each day to gradually working up to walking/jogging 7 miles M-F. I did have to have a "temporary" colostomy bag because by the time I was diagnosed with cancer (I had been misdiagnosed several times prior) I was going in my 3rd year so I am considered Stage III due to the lymph nodes involved and a stage IV because the cancer spread and broke through my vaginal wall. The colostomy was imperative or the vaginal fistula would not heal. I was diagnosed 10/31/12 and treatment began at the beginning of February 2013. I ended treatment March 26, 2013. I had a PET scan in May and the cancer has diminished by 50%, but I still have a lot of cancer in me since there was so much to begin with. My doctors tell me that it can take up to a year for my cancer to leave completely (if it does) and that the side effects of the radiation will last up to a year as well. My blood count was low during treatment, of course, then went up after treatment stopped, and now it's low again. I am lacking Vitamin B12 which has caused me to experience bouts of depression, frail fingernails, and numbness of my fingertips. I will have another PET scan in July to see if more cancer has left my body. I previously stated "temporary" colostomy because with all the radiation to my pelvic region I probably have a lot of scarred tissue which will make surgery to put my colon back together very tricky. My hematologist is going to discuss this surgery when I see him on 7/1.
