After battling mets to my lungs for 10 months, I got amazing news last week. An X-ray showed that my lungs, although possibly damaged, are clear!!! This miracle I owe to a new oncologist I started with in October. Two treatments later, and I'm almost home free. My previous oncologist had more or less given up on me. So my advise, NEVER give up on yourself.

Other Care (I found another oncologist.): Not being one to give up without a fight, I sought out another oncologist but with no expectations. My new doc offered me a life raft. She gave me a month off chemo and has me taking an estrogen blocker. I looked back at my original path report done after surgery and found that my uterine tumor was/is positive for estrogen receptors. I don't know why my original doc didn't even discuss this me, little alone offer treatment. Physically I am about the same but mentally and psychologically, I am 1000% better!

Oh No ( After 6 Doxil treatments, a CT scan showed that the lung tumors were growing again. ): So on to yet another drug, this time Gemzar coupled with carboplatin. No progress was made with these drugs and my oncologist essential threw up her hands, telling me in so many words that she was out of options. I thought I was looking at the end of my life.
