Procedure or Surgery (Mastectomy): Surgery went well, some discomfort with temporary implant but bearable. Tested for lymphoma but so far, no problems. However, the restrictions regarding lifting and stretching were and are still very difficult, as I have to handle many tasks at home (hauling wood for fireplace, cleaning house, yard work). This has been the hardest for me, since I've been told my cancer is 'gone'. (Taking a daily pill to suppress estrogen, no obvious side effects). All in all, so much to be thankful for!

Oh No (Diagnosed): Noticed a lump in my left breast, early May - had ultrasound and mammography, knew when the ultrasound technician called me back in for more views, that something was wrong. A moment's panic, then calm - I felt that God was with me and would take care of me. And He has. Stage 1, no lymph node involvement, nothing at all found wrong in right breast. Had skin-sparing mastectomy (left only) in July with immediate reconstruction.
