I wish you the best for you and your daughter. I too realize how fragile and unpredictable life can be. I had cancer and have two young boys (8 and 5), and am with you in wanting to really make the most of our time together. You're not going crazy! You're just a mom :) I am so sorry your daughter had to go through having cancer. I hope she remains healthy and is so young she won't have to remember having to go through having been ill. She will always know how much you have been there for her!

Survivorship can be challenging for an adult. At least she's young enough that maybe the "new normal" will just be the normal for her. Wishing you both peace and health.

You have to try Healios... absolutely have to. I talk about it a lot with my local support group and it always baffles me that more doctors aren't recommending it. It's a natural mucosal support, my doc got me on it from day one and I managed to avoid all sores, and only lost about 10-20lbs. Anyway it's all natural so look it up. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Good luck.

Decision Point (whether we should take an aggressive approach with radiation and possibly more long term side effects or only chemotherappy with more chances of local reccuremce)

Radiation (Internal radiation): Brachitherapy done. Side effects will be seen later but scarring of vagina is expected

Hi CorinneLP I'm going to be starting Brachytherapy in about a month. This Scares me, my chemo is not too bad but I'm very new at this. Its been 2.5 weeks getting ready for 2nd treatment this thursday. I am loosing my hair fast. I'm 49 and just married to my husband going on 4 years. We have been together 10 years. I know this scarring issue came up at the Appointment and I did not ask what would it feel like for my husband? Is that an issue or is it painful scar tissue that I will have issue with it ? What can I expect and is there anything I can do to help myself heal better?
Hope you are healed up at this point. Best wishes Peggy1965
