Side Effects (Allergic reaction): Nurse explained that in Round 7 or 8, side affects to the Carboplatin can happen, describing them. Sure enough, 5 minutes into the IV, I began to feel flush, nauseous, itchy palms. I immediately hit the call button. My nurse came immediately over, took 1 look at me and stopped the IV. Seconds later, 3 more nurses arrived to assist in administrating Benadryl and other drugs via IV, taking vitals and notifying my doctor's office across the hall. A nurse-practitioner arrived to oversee the situation. Once I began to feel better, I discovered I had broken out in hives on my body. The doctor's office again was notified, the NP came over and ordered another round of Benadryl to be given. 3 hours later, although drowsy from the Benadryl, I was out of danger

Decision Point (Continue with another 3 rounds of chemo followed by repeat scan, take a break and return to continue treatment.): As chemo was working, I decided to go ahead with another 3 rounds of chemo followed by repeat CT scan to see if tumors continue to shrink. Then I planned to take a break to rest up for a family vacation.

Procedure or Surgery (CT scan): Repeat CT Scan showed 1 tumor has disappeared; the remaining 7 have shrunk by more than 1/2 of its size.
