Hi there, and welcome. Please know we are where to support you in any way we can. You might be interested in reading through the journey of @hilary. She is a caregiver to her dad who is battling pancreatic cancer. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

Side Effects (Fatigue (tiredness)): My dad has just had his first week of chemo (Folfox) and he's so very weak. He's tired, his balance is affected, he is nauseous, and has problems with his sense of balance. I bought him a cane just to help steady him when he walks. He also has no appetite but makes himself eat. I got him some Ensure to drink so he'd have some caloric intake. Also, due to the chemo meds he can't drink anything cold. Warm milk and warm yogurt are really nasty.

Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Folfox pump to be used at home for 2-4 days, then two weeks off, then back on. This will go on for six months, but at 3 months they will do more scans to see the progress and evaluate how to proceed

Oh No (Diagnosed): My father was just diagnosed with stomach cancer the day after his 75th birthday. So far there have been LOTS of scans, tests, and a whole lot of waiting! He's getting a more focused MRI this week and hopefully that will give us a stage of the cancer and then the method of treatment and when it begins. The oncologist feels that surgery won't be necessary and that he'll end up being treated with chemo instead. We're all hoping it's in an early stage and that only a few rounds of chemo will be enough. Luckily he's been told he's very healthy otherwise. I think I'll be in the OH NO stage for quiet a while. I've been having something akin to mini-panic attacks due to all of this. I've been trying to be the brave, supportive, and logical one but I'm an internal emotional mess as well.
