Oh No (Misdiagnosed): Played around with a small town doctor that didn't recognize my lump or what kind of cancer it might be. He also had no idea where to send me for treatment so he told me to call the Mayo clinic in Arizona and wait until they could fit me in for an appointment. Waited 6 months and never heard a word from them. Finally decided to find my own doctor in Phoenix that might be able to help me. Through my school insurance I found a Surgeon in Phoenix that specialized in Breast care and breast cancer so I set up an appointment for myself. Within days after seeing her she scheduled a needle biopsy and determined I had Inflammatory Breast Cancer. If my original doctor had sent me for an immediate needle biopsy 6 moths sooner, I could have started treatment a lot sooner. At that time , IBC is immediately diagnosed as stage lllb.
