Good news! the wonderful people who work for my surgeon were able to finally get me the scans that I need at the closer location to my home! And, I go a day sooner than I was going to the city!

Thank you Greg, I go for my scans on Monday the Dr. said that would determine if I was even having surgery. Do you think I should insist they take it out?

Myself, I'm not to big on insisting that my doctors do anything that they aren't suggesting. They are the doctors and I am not, so I really don't know what's best for me, I have to trust that they know what they are doing. If you have doubts, get a second opinion and see what they say. I wish you the best when you meet the doctors.

I know what you mean, I'm just scared. I'm not really one to tell the doctors what to do, it's just the fear talking. and I really have to trust these doctors they are from MSKCC and they know their stuff. Thank you.

Went to the city yesterday. my 3 pm appointment ended up being at 5:40 with the Dr. I know they're really busy, but It got so late that the sonogram I was supposed to have after the Dr's appointment couldn't be done. Bottom line, He's really nice, thorough and seems to know his stuff. He says that the mass is either a) a general leiomyoma (fibroid) or b) cancer.

He wants me to have the repeat sonogram because he says that there is a lot open to interpretation and that "his" radiologists may see something that the radiologist that did my scans near my home did not, or just see it in a different way. So, I go next Tuesday for the scans. He said that the MRI is really what they need but I cannot have one because of the xxx metal in my chest. The metal in my chest is MRI conditional, so the thoracic surgeon who put them in decided i should just not have MRI's any more.

I have also cancelled my appointment for tomorrow to get my IUD put back in because I think that is pointless at this juncture.

So that is how my week is going. :)

I'm sorry. That sounds terribly frustrating. Hope the rest of the week is better.

I'm leaving for MSKCC in a few minutes to meet with the surgeon, I'm shaking and nervous as heck, I know I have to breathe and relax but it's hard. Barely slept last night. I don't know what I'm expecting to happen today, it's not like he's going to be able to magically be able to tell me yes/no right on the spot. I'm supposed to have a sonogram after the office visit. I don't know if that is even going to be possible because I'm still having residual problems from the endometrial biopsy last week. ugh.

Breathe. Whatever will happen, will happen. Once you get the results, you'll feel better and can plan the next steps. Hang in there - the waiting is the toughest part.

We're here for you if you need to talk afterwards.

Take it easy! Take in all that they have to say, ask lots of questions, let us know when you get done what the plan is. We are all wishing you the very best.
