    Drug or Chemo Therapy (Hormone therapy): Ketaconazole (taken with hyrdrocortisone to minimize side effects). I am told that this is the last available hormone strategy. When it no longer works, I guess it will effectively be the end of the "free ride" I have enjoyed for almost 4 years.

    Clinical Trial (Provenge): Not strictly a clinical trial (though my insurance company could not be convinced of that). but a new therapy.

    No problems with the process other than the discomfort of wearing a pheresis catheter for 6 weeks in the middle of summer.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy (Hormone therapy): Bicalutamide added in addition to Lupron, when PSA began to go up under the Lupron (at about 2 years after diagnosis).

    Radiation (External radiation ): Was not working, so increased tiredness esp toward end of course was not disruptive.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy (Hormone therapy): Quarterly lupron injections begun. Hot flashes classify as nuisance.

    Oh No (Diagnosed): Initial appearance on rectal exam, confirmed by prostate biopsy.
