I was 46 at diagnosis.. a year and a half later my psa score remains at 0.01. I opted for the robotic surgery. research and discuss with your doctor all the options available to you... make the best decision for you and your family based on your case.

Good for u for being diagnosed so early. That certainly increases your options both now and when you are older.

While I am very sorry that you are going through this, I agree with jrh43 -- good for you to catch it early. I was 47 and now 48 -- psa undetectable following robotic surgery last Oct at MSK NYC. The younger you are and the earlier you catch it, the better off you will be. Despite the author's complete ignorance of robotic surgery, I liked Patrick Walsh's Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer. A very good resource. Should be in every man's library.
