    Other Care (Hospice): moving to hospice care was one of the most difficult decisions. To me it signaled a change in our thought processes, we moved from hope to acceptance of the progression of the disease.

    Celebration (Finished treatment): In 2008 we celebrated Kevin having no evidence of disease and by the middle of that year he was working full time and had no evidence that he had ever had cancer. Strength and stamina returned. This celebration was short lived with a recurrence in 2009 that he rebounded from but when the cancer returned in 2011 he has never recovered slowly and surely he is shrinking from strength to dependency

    Clinical Trial (targeted therapy): Kevin was unable to receive the newest targeted therapy because he had an allergic reaction to the protein that carried the drug to the cancer cells. The substitute treatment was ineffective

    Radiation (External radiation ): After 2 weeks of 5 x a week radiation treatments he still faced 3 more weeks.

    Drug or Chemo Therapy (Chemotherapy): Chemotherapy 24/7 pump as while taking full radiation treatments completely took his strength, muscle mass, energy and will to go on.

    Oh No (Diagnosed): Healthy, Strong, Superman of a husband is suddenly a Stage IV cancer patient with liver mets. Given 8 - 10 months even with treatment in 2007
