I can empathize with you. My life has also been impacted by the long term side effects from my treatment. The challenge has been finding a doctor to address those issues.

Cancer doesn't pick convenient places. All that we can do is accept and adjust. I have a permanent colostomy due to rectal cancer, but I don't let it slow me down. I attend exercise classes twice a week and walk a couple of miles the other days. Best wishes that you find peace with the diagnosis and side effects.

I also had surgery four years ago for a rectal tumor leading to non-reversible ostomy due to the tumor location . Bad luck, but living is preferable.

Health insurance is horrible. No one realizes how much until they get sick. We are currently doing a dance with them over get Neulasta shots. They will pay for a hospital visit to receive them but not me to administer at home until we reach the $ 6800 out of pocket. It makes no sense at all.

Have you gotten the insurance issues straightened out? If not, throw a question under the question tab about the problems you're having. I work for a medical TPA and might be able to make some suggestions.
