CT scans are more sensitive to Lung cancers as are Life broncoscopies. PT's can show a lot of false positives.

Pet scan revisited
-
Rob
Yes I had a pet scan after my Dr. verified I had lung cancer, 1st option was to have surgery and remove the upper lobe of my left lung. After pet scan found the lympth nodes in my chest were hot for cancer, surgery was out and I started a long round of Chemo, And radiation, and of course very serious PRAYER. I prayed for a cure ( Believing ) and By the Grace of God, I received it. I am now CANCER FREE. I pray for all cancer patients now.

Decision Point (Doing FNA or directly to wedge resection and possible lobectomy.): Pet scan coming up and probable surgery in June a week or two after I have another "repair" surgery elsewhere.

I finally saw my doctor on Monday. He said since the spot has been there so many years (at least 6) and has grown very little, he doesn't think it is cancer. He said he wouldn't be able to get a sample of it by bronchoscope anyway, so there's no point in doing one. It's funny, last time I saw him he was almost sure he would do one and could get a sample! I'm confused. I haven't talked to my other pulmonologist (the one who follows my ph) because he is out of town this week. He also had said definitely biopsy the last time I saw him. I don't know whether to celebrate or cry! I'm having another CT in 6 months.
