Hi! I completely understand. I am on pain pills and steroids. I have a fractured back so exercise is limited. My physical therapist showed me several exercises I can do from a chair. These exercises have not only helped with weight but also strength. In terms of diet, talk to yur doctor. I cannot eliminate meat completely but when I do I eat lean, antibiotic and hormone free. I do not eat breads or potatoes. Lots of fresh vegetables and fruits. I have been loosing weight exercising and watching what I eat. I have to combine the two to loose weight! Good luck and hope this helps you!!

I gained 40 pounds in 2 months on Tamoxifen. Changed to Arimidex and have not lost any weight. Feel TERRIBLE all the time. Have shooting stabbing pains. I wish you all of the best. Big Big hugs.

I have to echo what many others are saying. I cut out all wheat and sugar and moved to what they call an "eat clean" diet (diet as in way of life - not weight loss plan). I am focused on eating healthy and must say cutting out the sugar has really helped (I am a bit of a sugar-aholic). It wasn't instant but the pounds are coming off. Also, since you can't walk focus on your arms. I'm working on making Mrs. Obama jealous ;-).

Mimmy4, the remedy for that is to be your own advocate and get a copy of all reports when you are at the doctor's office. I've always done that, but I've wondered what happens when we get too old to do that.

Just seems there are too many doctors who should not be practicing anymore. I realize how difficult it is to do something since another doctor has to say the original doctor did something wrong. Insurance and medical attention is expensive and the biggest expense is our health. I agree reports are essential. Every time I see my oncologist I leave with a complete report but not all doctors do that or say they have them available right away. Maybe if more of us demanded them it would start to become more commonplace.

Your medical records belong to the patient, so no one should give you a hard time about getting a copy, according to HIPAA laws. I request mine as I'm checking out (getting next appointment, etc.)
