Thanks for the information on Scandishakes. I will research them. Yes, I do not tolerate Ensure very well, but have been using Carnation Instant Breakfast, which doesn't give that many calories. As to the diagnoses, I was having trouble walking, (stenosis?), and still am, so I went for a series of tests to find why I was having so much pain in walking. One was an endoscopy and that's when they found it. Dr. Altorki, at NYC Presbyterian. Still trying to track down or resolve the stenosis - if that is what it is. Thanks.

Procedure or Surgery: I was diagnosed with Stage 2 esophageal Cancer on September 8, 2011. Following 9 weeks of chemotherapy, I underwent a esophagectomy on January 19, 2012. I was in the hospital for 11 days. Upon leaving the hospital, my weight was 274. My weight is now 250 and my Dr.'s appear concerned as I am about to begin a second round of chemotherapy and I think the worry is about my weight loss, even though I tolerated the first round very well. I am having trouble filling my diet with the necessary 2,300 calories a day, and don't have much of an appetite.
