Oh No: About a year before my husband was officially diagnosed, he knew something was very wrong. He had earaches without infection. He could feel a lump. He couldn't stick his tongue out without it twisting to the side.
He went to our local clinic and was told he was fine, given a prescription for REGULAR. strength Tylenol, and was all but accursed of drug seeking. About nine months later, his symptoms could no longer be ignored. He was in so much pain. He saw an ENT who went on to do further testing (scans, biopsy etc...) and was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the esophagus with one lymph node involved.

That's a tough way to start out on the cancer trip, being told there's nothing wrong. I had SCC, of the tonsil. 4 years ago, I had it taken out in one surgery, then about a month later had the radical neck disection. It was a tough surgery, but I am doing good now. I had radiation treatment and that's all.

Let me know if I can help with anything.
