I am sorry you are having to deal with this. I was diagnosed with tnbc last year and have just completed all my treatment in June. I had a reaction from the tape used to cover my port, it was awful! Had to have IV Benadryl. There is a lot of good info on this site, and lots of people who have been there to answer questions. You can do this!

Stayed up until 2 doing research on how to get through chemo. (Sigh). Ordered some ginger and some mint drops from Amazon. Chemo starts this Thursday so I hope they get here on time!

Pick up some ginger ale (the Canada Dry type). It'll help a lot with any nausea you experience. Also, be proactive about taking the anti nausea meds, especially the steroids your doctor will probably prescribe.

Everyone responds differently, but the chemo might not be as difficult as you may be anticipating.

Procedure or Surgery (Implant chemotherapy port): I had an unexpected reaction to the chloraprep! Nasty rash where it was applied and not cleaned off right after procedure. Added itching to the soreness of the incisions made for unpleasant recovery.

Oh No (Just Diagnosed): The roller coaster ride of testing and getting a final diagnosis was horrible!

I think it's certainly one of the most stressful parts - the waiting and wondering. Mind games are awful. Hoping for nothing but good outcomes for you.

I'm glad you're starting chemo this week. It was a relief to me to finally start receiving aggressive treatment for what had been diagnosed (TNBC).

I agree with Ditmoll. I had anxiety so bad until I was told my treatment plan. After that I was a lot calmer. Big ((hugs)) to you. You can do this! You’re stronger than you think!
