Thanks kenw and everyone else. Hope your new year day is great. no treatment today, but back for tomorrow. ELEVEN more.....then I hope to get thu the after effects I am told about, and get something to EAT. Seems like I need to throw-up all the time. I try and nothing happens except my throat hurts like you know what. And it burns constantly. Has anyone else had the constant feeling they needed to heave? Thank all of you.By the way, just plain chicken broth seems to go down better than anything.

Hey Mr. DT, I had trouble eating, swallowing, but didn't have the nausea like you describe, lots of people have had it though. You might post that question on the questions page, to get feedback from everyone

Radiation (External radiation ): I have 12 more left as of today. If I can make it, I will have received 35 treatments. o far, lost from 178 to 158. Hurts bad, can't swallow, chew, all the things associated with the mouth have been affected.I guess this is a "poor me", but the most help I have had besides the support of my loving wife, has come from reading the comments on this site. Thank God i found this.

Hi DT, I had Head and Neck, tonsil malignant, who ever heard of a stinking tonsil going rogue, right? The radiation is tough. I had it 24 years ago for hodgkins disease and it was nothing compared to 4 years ago when I had the SCC of tonsil. I had all those side effects this last time, sores in the mouth, lost my voice for a whole month. Couldn't swallow without swishing numbing mouthwash first. Lost 50#. Every day it's a new "surprise" side effect. The only good news is, that once you get to a certain point, it didn't seem to get any worse. I had to come home every day and nap around 3, lucky I work for myself. I don't know if anyone offered you advice on your teeth, but i have had to start having mine taken out. At risk for Osteoradionecrosis. A condition where if your tooth socket doesn't heal, the bone can start to rot, causing serious problems. Now, my hospital, Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville advises that head and neck patients have their teeth removed before you start radiation.
Let me know if I can help with anything, I am online most of the time.

Oh No (Diagnosed): Thought I had food particle in my throat. Still there 4 weeks later, and decided to get a doctor to take a look. He said, I think it is a a cancer.
