Traci,
I just logged in to this site today for the first time. I was reading your page and I wanted to say I hope you're ok. I had thyroid cancer too. I had two thyroidectomies to take out my thyroid. Then when I went in for radiation (they call it an ablation) they said some of the cancer cells had moved to my lymph nodes. They did a thyroid revision at that point. Both thyroidectomies and the revision all went in through the same spot on my neck and each one did basically the same thing: remove thyroid tissue. Then they put me through the ablation (radiation). If you have to do one of those I can give some tips. They scanned me a few months later and I was clean. I've been clean for almost three years now. I've learned how to live with the doctor visits and the synthroid dosing issues. Life is good though. If you want to talk let me know. Otherwise I'll be peaking in here from time to time to see if you're ok. God bless. Be safe and be well.

Oh No (Misdiagnosed): Since I had to wait until the next day I did extensive research. It wasn't like I was going to be able to sleep anyways. I learned all about a thyroid and a goiter that night. So when I went to see a doctor the next day I was armed with knowledge. Good thing too because he informed me my throat was just a little swollen. He wouldn't listen to me one bit. I walked from his office and immediately made an appointment with MY doctor a few days later.

Oh No (What's this thing in my throat?): After getting back from six months in a remote under-priviledged country, I was enjoying having a mirror that bigger that my face. I was making faces and doing random things no one ever thinks to do in front of a mirror. At one point I looked up and swallowed. Oh my goodness!!! Women don't have Adam's apples! I lost my cool but couldn't see a doctor until the next day (there was no ER where I was).
