If possible, get yourself to a colorectal specialist, rather than just a general oncologist or oncologic surgeon. I know that the care I've had with colorectal specialists has far surpassed what I would have had with generalists, tho with a very rare colorectal cancer, I needed the specialists to have any hope.

You are young; it is worth the extra effort to go to a Sloan Kettering or MD Anderson or Johns Hopkins for care.

Mine was early stage & had a colon resection, no further treatment. I am sure you had surgery by now & I hope you are doing well.

Every cancer is individual and responds differently. nancyjac is right on. Hopefully you are in good physical condition now as that will improve your odds in successfully treating the disease. I recommend getting 3-4 opinions and doing some research on your own before making a decision on treatment.
