BoiseB, did you call the doctor's office to re-request the note, Xrays and EKG? I think you should have gotten an attorney about all that. You don't say how long ago that was, but terminating you for health reasons isn't legal with FMLA and ADA. They have to offer you "reasonable accommodations," such as a different office or otherwise modifying the environment.

Although my opinion is a non-doctor opinion, it seems like chemicals you breathe would be more likely to cause lung cancer than gynecological cancer. I don't know about esophageal unless you swallow air. BoiseB, did you have acid reflux or ulcers before esophageal cancer?

Barbara, my the owner of the dealership was and still is very wealthy. He had every politician up to the President in his pocket. I realized that I would not have been able to get an attorney to represent me.
Yes chemicals you breathe can cause esophageal cancer. Smoking is the third risk of lung cancer. I never had acid reflux before I got esophageal cancer.

BoiseB, I see why you couldn't get an attorney, but the U.S. Department of Labor could've filed an ADA complaint for termination without accommodations and/or sued them. after the cancer diagnosis. I worked for a pulmonary doctor who frequently testified as an expert witness in lung cases due to chemicals as occupational hazards. They get big bucks, so you should check into the statute of limitations. Even to have the dealership change their environment would be gratifying.

If you didn't smoke, that would be in your favor, because sometimes he would say smoking affected lungs in a way that made a problem if another chemical got in the lungs, and that a problem was more likely with two risk factors.
