Wow, I'm so sorry. My grandma is 78 and has squamous stage IV. I'll email you directly...I think that will be more efficient. Mollie

I guess I can't email you from this page. Let me know if you'd like my number. Ok so she did 3 rounds of chemo (carboplatin/taxall). Really wiped her out, Bad. No nausea but they had her on four meds for that. From her PET scan it showed three lymph nodes affected so it has metastasized. No radiation, it would burn her esophagus so bad that she wouldn't be able to eat, possible drink. Surgery is a no go due to the size and location. Has he lost a lot of weight? Is he eating? I have some advice/tricks that we've tried. Lt me know if you'd like more info. Mollie

Why is radiation not an option? Is his over all health good? I survived Stage IIIB Squamous cell lung cancer. My tumor was very large wrapping around my heart and esophagus and High radiation along with chemo saved my life. I was in a clinical trial that a 80 year old man was also in and he survived too. Positive thinking is vital. Good luck.
