I used ice packs. I iced my feet and legs 20 minutes at a time 3 or 4 times a day. A doctor that had neuropathy got rid of his, and I got rid of mine. It went up just over my knees. It took 2 years, but I didn't have anything else to do. Frozen pea, cut corn, and mixed vegetables make the best ice packs-family size. I didn't pad it either I put them right on my jeans.

If a person is as desperate as I was, they will try it. You don't dope your body up-you don't spend money- you don't trot from doctor to doctor, etc.

Gabapentin didn't help me. I find a bit of relief from the numbness (I have no pain) with massage and warm water. I also take care not to let my feet get too cold.

I originally asked this question whe I was first diagnosis and was told maybe 5-7yrs that was back in 2008.Well I am still here and is in remission and doctors won't say when. Don't ask because they are not God. God has the last word anyway. Just live each day has it was your last. This illness is different for everyone.
